Softball Recap: Cascade Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cascade won the last time they faced Sweet Home and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cougars put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 15-1 win. Considering the Cougars have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Malia Scanlan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bays, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Cascade, bringing their record up to 21-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Sweet Home, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade will square off against Philomath at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.84 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sweet Home, they will take on Newport at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
