Basketball Game Preview: Stoneham Spartans vs. Belmont Marauders

Stoneham hasn't had much luck against Belmont recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stoneham Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Belmont Marauders at 7:15 p.m.

On Tuesday, Stoneham ended up a good deal behind Lexington and lost 55-40.

Meanwhile, Belmont had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down the Wildcats 69-52.

Belmont pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Stoneham, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Stoneham might still be hurting after the 61-39 defeat they got from Belmont in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Stoneham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
