Volleyball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

If Elkhart was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Bend Saint Joseph on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Homestead Spartans by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Rylee Drummond paced Elkhart's offense, picking up nine kills. Drummond got some help from Ava Polack and her 18 assists. Drummond was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Homestead, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

Coincidentally, Elkhart and Homestead will both be playing West Lafayette the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Red Devils on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
