Softball Recap: Lane Tech Comes Up Short

Lane Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairmont Firebirds. The match marked the Champions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lane Tech got a good showing from Sofia Stronsky, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Stronsky gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024.

Lane Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lane Tech will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Lincoln Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give Lane Tech their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Fairmont, they will face off against Bradford at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
