Preview: Roosevelt Presidents vs. Haldane Blue Devils
The Roosevelt Presidents will head out on the road to square off against the Haldane Blue Devils at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while Haldane is ranked 213th).
Last Wednesday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Roosevelt had to settle for a 50-47 defeat against Ellenville. Roosevelt has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Haldane came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Putnam Valley 56-38.
Roosevelt dropped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Haldane, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Roosevelt came up short against Haldane in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 53-46. Can Roosevelt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
