Basketball Game Preview: Ponitz Career Tech Golden Panthers vs. Belmont Bison

The Ponitz Career Tech Golden Panthers will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Belmont Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ponitz Career Tech is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Stivers School for the Arts. The Golden Panthers snuck past the Tigers with a 51-47 victory on Friday. The game was the first time the Golden Panthers have beaten the Tigers on their court since January 22, 2022.

Ponitz Career Tech found their leader in freshman Charleston Dixon, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 18 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Obama Khater, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Belmont humbled Jefferson Township with an 85-9 victory.

Ponitz Career Tech couldn't quite finish off Belmont in their previous matchup back in January and fell 57-54. Can the Golden Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
