Football Recap: Opelousas Comes Up Short

Opelousas's last matchup with Alexandria could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Tigers were beaten by the Trojans 59-6. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Alexandria was led to victory by Kason Williams and Karsen Sellers. Williams gained 184 total yards and two touchdowns, while Sellers threw for 199 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes.

Opelousas' defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Alexandria, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Opelousas will head out to face off against Zachary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alexandria, they will venture away from home to square off against Many at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
