Basketball Recap: Bentworth Takes a Loss

Bentworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Springdale Dynamos an easy 64-41 victory. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Dynamos are ranked 187th).

Despite the loss, Bentworth still got an impressive performance from Christopher Harper, who posted 21 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Moessner, who put up seven points and six assists.

Bentworth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Springdale, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Bentworth will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Springdale, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cheswick Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Springdale's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
