Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Lumen Christi Catholic's 12th in Last 14 Outings

Lumen Christi Catholic barely beat Adrian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Maples a 9-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Titans have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Bella Wrozek, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Adrian off the board.

At the plate, Laney Barancin was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Ganton, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lumen Christi Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Adrian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Lumen Christi Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Maples: the pair will be back at it again later today.
