Football Game Preview: Almont Raiders vs. Richmond Blue Devils + How To Watch

Almont has gone 9-1 against Richmond recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will head out to challenge the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Almont barely beat Armada the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Tigers on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Raiders have posted against the Tigers since October 4, 2019.

Brody Corneau went supernova, picking up 121 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 150 yards on only 12 carries. Those 150 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Jacob Stewart, who rushed for 82 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Almont was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Richmond's matchup on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Everything went their way against Imlay City as they made off with a 35-14 victory. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Spartans are ranked 244th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Almont better keep an eye on Jj Hollister. He was instrumental in Richmond's win, picking up 94 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Richmond pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Almont, their record now sits at 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Almont against Richmond in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
