Recap: Tuscumbia Lions vs. St. Elizabeth Hornets

The Tuscumbia Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 60-46 fall against St. Elizabeth. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tuscumbia in their matchups with St. Elizabeth: they've now lost eight in a row.

It was another big night for Gavin Williams, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds for St. Elizabeth. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Otto, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.

Tuscumbia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for St. Elizabeth, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscumbia on the road again on Thursday and play against Chamois at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. St. Elizabeth won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Halfway at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Halfway is ranked 274th, while St. Elizabeth is ranked 290th).
