 Clifton Central is 5-0 against St. Anne since May of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Clifton Central Comets will head out on the road to  face off against  the St. Anne Cardinals at 4:30  p.m. Clifton Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.4  runs per game  this season.
 On Saturday, Clifton Central came up short against Fisher  and fell  8-4. Clifton Central has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Ella Ponton was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
 Meanwhile, sadly, St. Anne is still looking for their first win of the season after 12  matchups. They wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 16-5 walloping at the hands of Donovan on Friday. One positive for St. Anne, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
  Tiffany DeYoung was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.  Maya Anderson was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Clifton Central's defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 9-12. As for St. Anne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
 Clifton Central took their  win against St. Anne  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clifton Central since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
