Basketball Recap: Fox Chapel Comes Up Short

Fox Chapel was the 52-41 winner over Seneca Valley when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fox Chapel Foxes fell just short of the Seneca Valley Raiders by a score of 37-35 on Friday. The matchup marked the Foxes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Fox Chapel still got an impressive performance from Caden Kaiser, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Kaiser is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of John Rehak, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Fox Chapel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Seneca Valley, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

The future could be bright for both Fox Chapel and Seneca Valley: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Fox Chapel will look to extend Pine-Richland's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Seneca Valley will try to hand North Allegheny their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
