Basketball Recap: Dani Milliner Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Centennial

Mansfield Timberview won the last time they faced Centennial and things went their way on Friday too. The Mansfield Timberview Wolves snuck past the Centennial Spartans with a 45-41 win. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Spartans are ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mansfield Timberview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dani Milliner out in front who posted 12 points. Milliner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Sydney Gamble was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Mansfield Timberview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.3% in those games and 27.5% outside of them. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.
