Baseball Recap: North Brunswick Comes Up Short

North Brunswick fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Topsail on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Topsail Pirates by a score of 6-5. That makes it the first time this season the Scorpions have let down their home crowd.

North Brunswick got a good showing from Tyler Kelly, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Kelly has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, North Brunswick saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Hauser, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-4. As for Topsail, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Coming up, North Brunswick will square off against West Stokes at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games North Brunswick has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Topsail, they will challenge South Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
