Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Spartans vs. Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers

The Springfield Spartans will face off against the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Springfield came up short against Mogadore and fell 8-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Nathan Meyer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Falls didn't have quite enough to beat Firestone on Thursday and fell 6-5. The Black Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braylon Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Cuyahoga Falls' loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Springfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Cuyahoga Falls in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Black Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
