Soccer Recap: Cristo Rey Plays to a Tie

For the first time this season, Cristo Rey was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor The New Community School could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 5-5 draw. The outcome might've been different if Jeffrey Aldana hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Cristo Rey hit The New Community School with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aldana (2), Matthew Ambrocio, Diego Monroy-Alvarado, and Eddy Miranda Cuellar.

Cristo Rey's draw makes their record 1-0-1 this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The New Community School, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Grove Christian School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
