Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Valley Aviators vs. Riverton Silverwolves

For the second straight game, Cedar Valley will face off against Riverton. The Aviators are taking a road trip to square off against the Silverwolves at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cedar Valley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Cedar Valley heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-2 to Riverton, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

For Riverton's part, Rocky Downs tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Downs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cohen Allred, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Gillespie, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Cedar Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Riverton, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.
