Baseball Game Preview: Benbrook Bobcats vs. Western Hills Cougars

Benbrook has gone 8-2 against Western Hills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Benbrook Bobcats face off against Western Hills Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Benbrook has four straight victories, Western Hills has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Monday, Benbrook beat Southwest 6-1.

Tanner Madara made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Madara was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

In other batting news, Benbrook let Evan Smith and Ethan Gonzales run wild. Smith went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Gonzales has posted since back in February. Giulianno Martinez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Western Hills fell victim to Panther Creek and their airtight pitching crew last Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Panthers.

Western Hills' loss dropped their record down to 0-13-1. As for Benbrook, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

Everything went Benbrook's way against Western Hills in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Benbrook made off with an 8-0 victory. Does Benbrook have another victory up their sleeve, or will Western Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
