Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Beats Angeline Academy of Innovation for Their Fourth Straight Win

Mitchell came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Angeline Academy of Innovation Archers as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Archers, too.

Mitchell was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-8, 25-17.

Mitchell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Perkins, who had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces Perkins has posted over her last nine matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Unger, who had ten digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Mitchell was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Angeline Academy of Innovation only served three aces.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Angeline Academy of Innovation, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mitchell will head out to face off against Hudson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Angeline Academy of Innovation, they will square off against Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
