Basketball Recap: Chesterfield Golden Rams vs. York Prep Patriots

In what's become a running theme this season, the Chesterfield Golden Rams gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat York Prep 61-19 at home. With Chesterfield ahead 29-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Kierra Diggs continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Terrahjah Robinson, who scored 16 points along with three steals.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Payton Munsey, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds. That was a full 42.1% of York Prep's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Chesterfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for York Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesterfield will square off against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheraw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for York Prep, they will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Catawba Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
