Basketball Recap: Gadsden Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Gadsden picked up another tournament win on Friday. They blew past the Bowie Bears 49-28. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 79th in New Mexico, while the Bears are ranked 1108th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gadsden's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6. As for Bowie, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Gadsden didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-29 win against Chaparral on the 27th. As for Bowie, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austin at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
