Softball Recap: Rainier Has No Trouble Against Toutle Lake

Rainier lost to Toutle Lake back in April of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Columbians were the clear victors by a 22-7 margin over the Ducks. The result was nothing new for the Columbians, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Destiny McKay was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddy Twichell, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Rainier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Rainier back to even at 8-8. As for Toutle Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Rainier will face off against Warrenton at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Toutle Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
