Football Recap: Matthew Ziglar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fuquay - Varina over Garner + How To Watch

Fuquay - Varina had taken Garner down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Bengals fell 34-21 to the Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Trojans are ranked 18th).

Fuquay - Varina lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Matthew Ziglar, who rushed for 93 yards and a pair of scores. Jayden Tinley also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.

Amir Wallace had an outrageously good game for Garner as he rushed for 134 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Those 134 rushing yards gave Wallace a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Clinard, who threw for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Fuquay - Varina has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Garner, their record now sits at 7-3.
