Softball Preview: Denair Coyotes vs. Waterford Wildcats

The Denair Coyotes will be playing at home against the Waterford Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Denair will be strutting in after a victory while Waterford will be coming in after a defeat.

Denair will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Ripon Christian, who they hadn't topped in nine consecutive meetings. Denair blew past Ripon Christian 22-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for Denair.

Cadence Baldwin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off three hits. Baldwin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Avery Nilsson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Marroquin, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Waterford is still looking for their season's first win. They lost 13-5 to Gustine on Tuesday.

Denair's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
