Recap: Trego Golden Eagles vs. Hoxie Indians
The Trego Golden Eagles lost against the Hoxie Indians back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Trego's tough 70-45 loss to Hoxie might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Trego in their matchups with Hoxie: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Trego still got an impressive performance from Makenna Flax, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Flax is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Trego's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-5. As for Hoxie, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Trego will take on Phillipsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Phillipsburg and Trego are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Hoxie, they will head out on the road to take on Plainville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Plainville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Hoxie is ranked sixth).
