Football Recap: Vega Longhorns vs. Farwell Steers
After flying high against Memphis two weeks ago, Vega came back down to earth. The Longhorns had to suffer through a 46-13 loss at the hands of the Farwell Steers. The loss continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Steers: they've now lost four in a row.
Kase Vogler threw for 151 yards and two TDs. On the ground, Omar Segovia rushed for 75 yards.
Farwell found their leader in sophomore Coy Miller, who rushed for 230 yards and one touchdown while picking up 12.1 yards per carry. Miller also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles. Kolson Allen was another key player, throwing for 136 yards and a pair of TDs.
Vega now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Farwell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1-1.
Coincidentally, Vega and Farwell will both be playing Gruver the next time they take the field. The Longhorns will host the Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Steers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
