Soccer Recap: Alton Comes Up Short

Alton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Civic Memorial Eagles, falling 3-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Alton couldn't quite close it out.

Alton's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Civic Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-12.

Coming up, Alton will take on Collinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Civic Memorial, they will venture away from home to challenge Triad at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Civic Memorial's defense better be ready for this one: Triad have averaged an impressive 3.1 goals per game this season.
