Basketball Recap: North Putnam Victorious

North Putnam posted their closest victory since January 25, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over the Greencastle Tiger Cubs. 59 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Greencastle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alexandra Dobbs, who posted 21 points. That's the most points Dobbs has posted since back in November of 2024. Bailey Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

The win made it two in a row for North Putnam and bumps their season record up to 10-7. As for Greencastle, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

North Putnam didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-45 victory against Western Boone on the 18th. As for Greencastle, they will challenge Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th.
