After three games on the road, Arrowhead is heading back home. They will take on the Mukwonago Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Arrowhead's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Arrowhead put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 65-24 victory over Xavier on the road. Given Arrowhead's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Xavier is ranked 53rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arrowhead found their leader in underclassman Natlie Kussow, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Kussow is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Libby Gilmore, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Mukwonago's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Oconomowoc by a score of 54-51. Mukwonago has not had much luck with Oconomowoc recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Arrowhead pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for Mukwonago, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Everything came up roses for Arrowhead against Mukwonago in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 74-36 win. Does Arrowhead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mukwonago turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
