Basketball Game Preview: Apalachee Wildcats vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

Apalachee hasn't had much luck against Winder-Barrow recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Apalachee Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs at 8:00 p.m.

Apalachee is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Habersham Central and fell 83-54. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Raiders are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Winder-Barrow waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They secured a 58-54 W over the Red Devils.

Winder-Barrow is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Apalachee, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Things could have been worse for Apalachee, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-59 loss to Winder-Barrow when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Apalachee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
