West Las Vegas has won five straight games at home, while St. Michael has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Dons will host the Horsemen at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Las Vegas 3.1, St. Michael's 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Tuesday, West Las Vegas didn't have quite enough to beat Robertson and fell 2-1.
Meanwhile, while St. Michael's put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Robertson. The Horsemen were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Cardinals. The Horsemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Nadia Cedillo was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, St. Michael's got a massive performance out of Jaslene Ramirez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles Ramirez has posted since back in March. Mariella Ruiz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
St. Michael's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
St. Michael's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for West Las Vegas, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. West Las Vegas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Michael's struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
West Las Vegas took their win against St. Michael's in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4 score. Do the Dons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Horsemen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
