Basketball Recap: Southside Christian's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Southside Christian lost against Woodruff last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southside Christian Sabres fell 43-36 to the Woodruff Wolverines. The game marked the Sabres' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Leading Woodruff to victory were Jordan Robinson and Jensyn Turner. Robinson went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points along with six boards and four steals, while Turner went 6 of 9 on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Those 17 points gave Robinson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine McKnight, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Southside Christian moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Woodruff, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Southside Christian will take on First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Woodruff, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-31 victory against Mid-Carolina on the 16th.
