Baseball Game Preview: East vs. Badger Braves

East is a perfect 3-0 against Badger since May of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. East will be playing in front of their home fans against Badger at 5:00 p.m. East is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for East after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 14-3 to East Canton.

East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victor Rodriguez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Rodriguez has launched this season.

Meanwhile, Badger beat Lordstown 4-1 on Wednesday. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alton Winchek was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Badger's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hunter Gilbert, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

East's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Badger, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. East has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Badger struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

East took their victory against Badger when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 14-7 score. Will East repeat their success, or does Badger has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
