Basketball Recap: United South Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

United South came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Medina Valley Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 59-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 30-26 on January 3rd.

Medina Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trinity Dixon, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 19 points, and Tori Ruffin, who posted eight points and seven boards. Janasia Lee was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

United South pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Medina Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-15.

United South and Medina Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. United South will challenge Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 872 places (147 vs. 1019). Meanwhile, Medina Valley (ranked 362nd) will meet Del Rio (ranked 944th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
