Softball Game Preview: Bishop Ready Silver Knights vs. Thomas Worthington CARDINALS

The Bishop Ready Silver Knights will head out to square off against the Thomas Worthington CARDINALS at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Bishop Ready is looking for their season's first victory.

Bishop Ready is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against North Union on Wednesday, falling 17-6.

Bishop Ready saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie Forester, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Thomas Worthington hadn't done well against Hilliard Davidson recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Thomas Worthington came out on top against Hilliard Davidson by a score of 10-6.

Sophie Newsom made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Newsom was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Thomas Worthington let Riley O'Neill and Delaney Jackson run wild. O'Neill scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Jackson scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Richards, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win got Thomas Worthington back to even at 1-1. As for Bishop Ready, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Bishop Ready took their victory against Thomas Worthington when the teams last played back in April of 2016 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Ready since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
