Baseball Recap: Leroy Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Leroy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Hackleburg Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-4 defeat on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Leroy and nudges their season record down to 31-12. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Hackleburg, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 38-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Leroy by a score of 5-4 later that day.
