Baseball Recap: Canton Takes a Loss

Canton fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Windsor Locks on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-5 to the Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Oden Berg was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Canton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 2-9 when he doesn't). Vin Forte was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Windsor Locks, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will host Stafford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Windsor Locks, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Newington at 3:45 p.m.
