Basketball Recap: Mingo Central Find Success

If WestSide wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mingo Central, they should've done a better job of containing Addie Smith. The Mingo Central Miners came out on top against the WestSide Renegades by a score of 55-45 on Tuesday thanks in part to Smith, who posted 15 points along with eight assists and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Bailey, who had 13 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The victory got Mingo Central back to even at 1-1. As for WestSide, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mount View the next time they take the court. WestSide will head out to face Mount View on Thursday, while Mingo Central will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
