Baseball Recap: Mount Greylock Regional Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mount Greylock Regional and Drury meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Mounties lost 16-5 to the Blue Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mounties have suffered since May 16, 2024.

Jake Newberry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Everett Bayliss, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one double.

Mount Greylock Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Drury, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Greylock Regional will take on Wahconah Regional at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Drury, they will venture away from home to square off against Lee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
