Recap: Pleasanton Bulldogs vs. Silver Lake Mustangs
The Pleasanton Bulldogs lost against the Silver Lake Mustangs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Pleasanton fell just short of Silver Lake by a score of 44-42. Pleasanton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brittany Riley, who scored 13 points. Riley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Rasmussen, who scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Schmidt, who scored 13 points. Schmidt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katy Soucek, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Pleasanton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Silver Lake, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Pleasanton will head out on the road to face off against Twin Loup at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Silver Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Blue Hill at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Blue Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
