Basketball Recap: Douglas County West Takes a Loss

Douglas County West was the 52-42 winner over Syracuse when they last played one another on February 4th, but their luck changed this time around. The Douglas County West Falcon took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Syracuse Rockets. The Falcon have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Douglas County West still got an impressive performance from Bella Zach, who went 6-for-8 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Zach a new career-high in points. Ava Grimm was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Douglas County West's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Syracuse, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-11.

Douglas County West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Syracuse, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-38 loss against Lincoln Christian on the 20th.
