Silver Creek came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Pomona, but Dj Hawkins wouldn't allow it. The Pomona Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Silver Creek Raptors on Saturday, sneaking past 83-81 thanks to Hawkins, who posted 37 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 15 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Oelrich, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 17 points and eight boards. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 50% shooting accuracy.

When it comes to explaining why Silver Creek lost, don't look at Connor Bonsett. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-21 en route to 26 points. The dominant performance gave Bonsett a new career-high in points. Preston Waller was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six assists and five steals.

Pomona's record is now 8-15. As for Silver Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Pomona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Silver Creek, they will challenge Thompson Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Thompson Valley likes a good challenge.
