Softball Recap: Edgar Comes Up Short

Assumption hit Edgar with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 11-1 to the Royals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since April 20th.

Edgar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Kaiser, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Kaiser is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Edgar and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Assumption, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgar will welcome Marathon at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Assumption, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Amherst at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
