Softball Preview: Loyola College Prep Flyers vs. Northwood Falcons
The Loyola College Prep Flyers will head out to take on the Northwood Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Things were looking good for Loyola College Prep after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Doyline by a score of 7-6. The Flyers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Larkin Krieg put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Presley Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Savannah Mekelburg also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
