Softball Recap: Elba Takes a Loss

Elba fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against McKenzie on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of McKenzie. Elba was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McKenzie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Lady Stinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Parks, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Elba has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for McKenzie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Coming up, Elba will square off against Red Level at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Red Level will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Elba surely won't give up without a fight. As for McKenzie, they will face off against Greenville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
