Volleyball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

If Douglas was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Churchill County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Bishop Manogue Miners on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Douglas was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bishop Manogue work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 26-24.

Douglas' offense was headlined by Alexa Atkinson and Hayley Rocha, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Priya KC and her nine assists.

Sofia Jaferian was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight digs and two assists.

Douglas dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Bishop Manogue, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-6.

Douglas has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Galena on the 16th. As for Bishop Manogue, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Damonte Ranch on the 16th.
