Basketball Game Preview: Middleton Tigers vs. Humboldt Vikings

The Middleton Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Humboldt Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Middleton strolled past Bradford with points to spare, taking the game 56-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Humboldt had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They breezed by the War Eagles to the tune of 85-24. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Humboldt's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points over those games. As for Middleton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Middleton took a serious blow against Humboldt in their previous matchup back in January, falling 63-36. Can Middleton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
