Baseball Recap: Shaker Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Shaker and Niskayuna meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Bison fell just short of the Silver Warriors by a score of 5-4. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Silver Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Shaker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was PJ Strand, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Shaker has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season. As for Niskayuna, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Shaker is set to square off against their familiar foe Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Niskayuna will face off against rival Averill Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
