Basketball Recap: Circle Comes Up Short

Circle lost against McPherson back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Circle Thunderbirds came up short against the McPherson Bullpups, falling 62-36. The game marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Circle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for McPherson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Circle will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Buhler at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Circle is facing Buhler at the right time seeing as Buhler is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for McPherson, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bishop Miege at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. McPherson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Bishop Miege likes a good challenge.
